NeckTech Fun

The NeckTech Fun is an alternative to a flat dog collar, meets the requirements of the German Animal Welfare Dog Ordinance, and is not prohibited. The NeckTech Sport is a discreet alternative to prong collars, whose links imitate canine teeth – its use as a training collar is prohibited in Germany under Section 2(5) of the Animal Welfare Dog Ordinance.

The right NeckTech collar depends on the model you want. First, you can choose between the NeckTech Fun as a normal flat collar and the NeckTech Sport as an alternative to a prong collar. Both variants come in different versions – either with ClicLock only, or with ClicLock and an assembly chain. Here you decide, ideally together with your dog trainer, which version is the best fit for you and your dog.

For the NeckTech without an assembly chain, choose the starting length closest to the neck circumference and adjust it by adding or removing links. For the NeckTech with an assembly chain, add 8 cm to the neck circumference as with other pull-stop collars, then choose the next closest length, which you can also adjust by adding or removing links.

Yes. Unlike classic chain collars, the NeckTech can be adjusted by adding or removing individual links – each link changes the length by 3 cm. To do this, gently bend the links open from the inside, slide them apart, connect the end links, and press them back together with pliers and a cloth so the chain doesn't open unintentionally.

Yes, NeckTech suits all dog breeds, whether short- or long-haired. SPRENGER describes the NeckTech Fun with assembly chain and ClicLock as a model offering comfortable wear for both short- and long-haired breeds.

The NeckTech Fun is available as a flat chain collar in various versions, for example with a ClicLock or an assembly chain. For many buyers, key selection criteria include material properties such as easy cleaning, the adjustable length, and matching replacement links.

ClicLock is the SPRENGER safety closure: the button is pressed down and slid into the metal housing, with an audible click confirming secure engagement. A plastic slider then prevents accidental opening. With a breaking load of 200 kg, it holds even large, powerful dogs during training.

A chain collar should be chosen to match the dog's neck circumference and should fit neither too tight nor too loose. It should be easy to put on without restricting the dog. When choosing, pay attention to the length, link shape, wire gauge, and closure type.

For large dog breeds, we recommend a wire gauge of 4 mm (e.g. German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Husky), and for particularly large breeds such as the Dogue de Bordeaux or Cane Corso, a 5 mm wire gauge. For especially spirited dogs or dogs that are unusually strong for their breed, we recommend choosing one wire gauge stronger.

Stainless steel is the hardest material in our range, offers the highest breaking load, and is especially durable – the classic choice for strong dogs. CUROGAN is a nickel-free copper alloy, also made from solid material and rust-free, but minimizes coat discoloration and allergic reactions in around 90% of affected dogs. That's why we recommend CUROGAN for dogs with light or white coats.

For most everyday situations, a standard leash of around 2–3 m in length is suitable. We recommend a 3-times adjustable dog leash, as thanks to its two carabiners it can be flexibly adapted to different situations.
